Registering the Software

         We have to register the software ( which is provided on the device ) to protect the authorized user's legal rights to use the software. If we don't register it untill the trial period then the device will automatically restart every 30 mins.

Registration serial number is mentioned on the buying letter of authorization of software.

Below are sample commands and available in any view

Multiple users can log in to the system to simultaneously configure the router. In some circumstances, when the administrator wants to make configurations without interruption from the users that have logged in through other user interfaces, the administrator can execute the command to release the connections established on the specified user interfaces.

You cannot use this command to release the connection that you are using.

Switching to privilege levels

You can switch to other privilege level temporarily without logging out or terminating the current connection.

After the switch, you can continue to configure the switch without the need of re login, but the commands that they can execute have changed.

For example, if your privilege level is 3, you can configure system parameters. After switching to privilege level 0, you can execute only some simple commands, like ping and tracert, and only a few display commands.

The switching operation is effective for the current login. After you re-log in, your privilege restores to the original level. 

  §            Set the authentication mode for user privilege level switch

                 [H3C]super authentication-mode { local | scheme } 

            

                 The authentication mode is local by default.

 

  §             Configure the password for user privilege level switch

             

                  [H3C]super password [ level user-level ] { simple | cipher } password 

           

                  This is required if the authentication mode is set to local

       (that is, specify the local keyword when setting the authentication mode).

                 

                   By default, no privilege level switch password is configured

Configuring Scheme authentication for Console login

   §            Enter AUX user interface views 

                 [H3C]user-interface aux 0

   §           Specify the scheme authentication mode

                 [H3C-ui-aux0]authentication-mode scheme

For Telnet, SSH and Console access, we have to allow the access to the user in the user configuration according to the type of service we want to allow. 

           e.g.

                [H3C]local-user test

                [ H3C-luser-test]service-type telnet ssh terminal

Note- ‘terminal’ is for ‘Console’ access

Configuring password authentication for Console login

By default, you can log in to the router through the console port without authentication and have user privilege level 3 after login

•      Enter AUX user interface views

                  [H3C]user-interface aux 0

•      Specify the password authentication mode

                  [H3C-ui-aux0]authentication-mode password 

            By default, you can log in to the router through the AUX port with password authentication and have user privilege level 0 after login.

•      Set the local password

                  [H3C-ui-aux0]set authentication password { cipher | simple } password 

            By default, no local password is set.
